Perfect 101

Don't  those perfect people get on your nerves? Does perfect exist? Is life really peaches and creme? When I was younger I used to think everything had to be perfect.  I had to get good grades,  get into a perfect university,  look a certain way, make the "right" amount of money, have a perfect family (because my family wasn't perfect lol)and the list goes on. But for some reason nothing came out perfectly...life just wouldn't act right.lol. I remember venting to my sister countless of times about how my plans were so far behind than everyone I graduated high school with and how hard it was to get things accomplished without being rich.. little did I know that my perfect world would come to an end..is life really that hard? Or is it that we just make it difficult?....It took me a while to realize that finding the perfect husband or perfect job just wasn't  going to happen.  I had to extract "perfect" from my mind.  Perfection is a standard that society or culture engrave in us. But when we think about it no one is perfect. We all make mistakes. We all go through obstacles. The world isn't perfect,  people aren't perfect,  life isn't perfect.  ..... I'm not saying we shouldn't strive for better... you should always evolve... however, ....don't dwell on perfection.! Sometimes I  wonder what would happen if we lived in an utopian world.....

what is stopping you from being happy in this moment, in this second, this very minute? Is it a job? Is it money? Is a partner? Is it love? Is it a degree? Is it a business? Is it travel? What is it?  What in the world is it thats going to make you happy? Why can't we just be happy with nothing? what if whatever you think is going to make you happy never came, would you die miserable? Would you die unhappy? ....if you're waiting on that missing piece of the puzzle to complete your life, then you aren't really living.  You're just merely existing. You have no real purpose if your life only starts the moment you get what you're waiting for.

I see so many people dwelling on what could or couldn't be, or what should or shouldn't be, or how perfect things are supposed to be, rather than what already is.... what is perfection and does it really exist?  I think we spend so much time trying to make things  perfect that we lose sight of reality. Perfect is right NOW. everything that is happening right now in your life is in its perfect place or time.  Everything  works according to our perception of reality.  what happens to this moment right now? Does this moment in your life not matter.  And if it doesn't matter, why can't you make it matter. Like why do humans always see the negative in everything, rather then the positive.  Why do people compare their lives to others? Why do we live this way?

Is this what life is all about? What should,  could,  or would be perfect? Don't answer that lol.

P.S. JUST BE HAPPY

  1. Many people get so consumed in what “perfect” should be that they get disappointed when things don’t go as plan. It’s ok to dream and create goals. But living with the expectation that things have to be a specific way with no room for change. It’s a fixed mindset, and it’s hard for that individual to be optimistic.

  2. Thats so true, trying to be perfect can cause lots of disappointment. And then we get so stuck in that disappointment that we forget to be happy. A fixed mindset leaves no room for growth.
